"Not a Lot of Bull"

Because 72-10 vs 73-9 is like being able to make a basket while getting hacked vs making a (football) goal without a goalie respectively... Hence, even if the GSW emerged as champions, it'll not be as dominating and as "convincingly-earned" as that of the 72-10 Bulls... That said, the Bulls-then from a very defense-oriented NBA period could have recorded a better win-loss slate in today's NBA generation. Whereas the current Warriors couldn't have done any better during the "bad boys" era or the "Hack-a-Shaq" time as attested by how the LeBron James-led Cavaliers dominated them and took control by apparently applying a '90's-kind of sticky defense... The Warriors know how to play in today's brand of basketball for a fact (and shooting at will in fact) since Steve Kerr (coach), being part of that 72-10 Bulls team as a shooter himself, knows the difference and how to take advantage of the current NBA's loose-kind of defense h...

The Heat is Still On

Image
Rather signifying it through a question given my reservation of a prediction in chorus with that earlier blog post’s subject , my game analyses of the 2011 NBA Finals series proved exact as the Dallas Mavericks won it in 6 games. It’s similarly fitting to have been suggested as to what factor will effect: Making a difference or “teaming up”… Unfortunately for the latter as what the Miami Heat prompted, other than the lack of it with their team abounded with talents, they rather fell short of determination. Ironically, they were so determined to win that they simply relied on confidence given the odds their team’s formation has feted them. They seemed to have underestimated how the Mavericks convincingly got there and in the process sweeping the Western Conference semifinals series against the heavy favorite defending champions. Miami was the heavy favorite to win the NBA Finals series. And more than Dallas being the underdog as my reason for taking on their side (and to indisputably...

Elemental Surprise

Image
The element in “element of surprise” is, as it actually suggests, an elemental factor in hyping up what is to be open to the elements. Too much elements? Exactly the point. Or (quite apt) exactly the element… Stirring some suspense for an anticipated revelation further intensifies excitement. ‘Teasers’ for one is an element. It drives curiosity to keep track until it’s satisfied. Satisfaction however should have a sustainable touch that would allow for a possible carry-over. The now former Cavalier LeBron James’ recent “The Decision” created quite a stir that made headlines as much as headaches. The group responsible for such hoopla did well in having it hyped as they have probably expected. However, the manner by which it was decided on how it is to take effect was not of a sound decision. It was noise. After which, it has created louder noise… Sound and noise differ like that of marketing and business though complementary. The soundness of marketing basics is to be sounded off...
