The Heat is Still On

Rather signifying it through a question given my reservation of a prediction in chorus with that earlier blog post’s subject , my game analyses of the 2011 NBA Finals series proved exact as the Dallas Mavericks won it in 6 games. It’s similarly fitting to have been suggested as to what factor will effect: Making a difference or “teaming up”… Unfortunately for the latter as what the Miami Heat prompted, other than the lack of it with their team abounded with talents, they rather fell short of determination. Ironically, they were so determined to win that they simply relied on confidence given the odds their team’s formation has feted them. They seemed to have underestimated how the Mavericks convincingly got there and in the process sweeping the Western Conference semifinals series against the heavy favorite defending champions. Miami was the heavy favorite to win the NBA Finals series. And more than Dallas being the underdog as my reason for taking on their side (and to indisputably...

New Sun

Sounds more like nuisance… That’s not it. It could elicit that kind of a feeling however. The truth is that, it’s a spin-off to my self-titled post “ Mr. Reno Mohr ”. It’s a sequel titled like that of Twilight’s “New Moon”. Since it’s under this site, I thought the title is only fitting in the same way as the timely occasion about renewal. It’s Easter Sunday. And what would be a better subject to “rant” about than “change”. It’s the only constant thing in this world so they say. Even so, a lot refuse to accept it. Imperfectly though, in expecting for it to take place amongst others, it’s rather pushed for. As it appears, it makes perfect sense that people don’t see the smudge on their face unless they’re fronting a mirror so to speak. Thus, before we become critical of others, let us rather analyze first our own imperfections. There are just those who think high of themselves. Notwithstanding their flaws that could even be far worse, all they care about is how they are so contro...

Right Hand Information

“But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing” is a line from Matthew 6: 2-4 that's remindful of humility. Literally though, in getting some work done, coordination between both hands with pairs of others rather clasps the idea of others’ testament of your deed instead. We had our hands full setting up a “trade” showcase to be awarded to a recipient for a politician’s generous cause of which we co-sponsored. In the midst of the rush not to unveil the surprise, a right hand from that of a public servant reached out for an acknowledging hand shake as we became subject of lenses worthy of media hype. Smile? Click! Click! Click! Click! Tsk! Tsk! Tsk! Tsk!   As the program progressed, more cameras rolled and clicked for documentation (err) publicity. Politicians abounded. True to their words (oops) style, they delivered their speeches with conviction BUT modesty… “Oh don’t you just admire them for their knack for subtle bragging? ...

UNDISPUTED

Wonder how or why men try to boost up their ego when in denial of a failure? May it be from a relationship, a certain match-up with that of the same ‘breed’ perhaps or any of those things that did not allow them to meet what they believe is expected of them, much more from that of their own presumption. Somehow, men find ways to justify such letdown. After a good boxing match-up for instance, assuming neither of the two pugilist kissed the canvass, the ‘defeated paw’ will claw back to glory by insisting that the decision should have been the other way around if it’s not because of too many objectionable reasons. While on the other hand, the victorious fighter, despite its swollen face would probably brag about not even having been bothered nor hurt by what he claims were ‘slight’ punches from, what the obvious thought, who roughly turned out to be such ‘a destructive force’ after all. Of course, there are more challenging ego-busting issues that knock men out of what for them are th...
