Customer 101

Image
A lot has been written (and said) on how customer service should be carried out. Most often than not, it is through these insights that give customers such haughtiness; on the face of it, embodying their domineering clout over service providers. How about being the customer – the service-recipient? While wanting to satisfy their needs at the expense of people they feel are under their control, customers forget or are unmindful (and similarly insensitive) of the character behind the person at their disposal. For instance, the security guard we reprimanded for “arrogance” as per our own account or the “tactless” service crew we wanted fired could be responsible enough to enable themselves to work and feed their family. The accusation against them could have been blown out of proportion due to our self-centered inconsiderateness for how could they have not been “that uncaring” if only to likewise care for their family’s source of income. We have to remember that there are at least ...

Mr. Reno Mohr

Hi! The title is an introductory of who I am as it’s indicative of my name. Yup, that’s me. No relation to Mr. Jay Mohr though. Mohr ov-- I mean moreover, he’s real whereas I’m fictitious. He’s a TV and film actor portraying made up characters while on the contrary, I’m a fabricated figure that’ll depict valid human interest. But whatever it is, my thoughts are real… Nevertheless, who am I exactly? Logically, I’m a figment of my creator’s imagination; his alter-ego perhaps. Counter-ego is more apposite I think; a case of “My opinion” vs. (what) “I said” I assume. Nevertheless, the mere fact that you’re able to read this without having to pinch yourself to wake up, it’s as real as it gets… “Who am I” might not even interest you as who would care to be even curious of just some unknown entity. Unless I’m some up-and-coming personality gradually making a name, perhaps, a curious few would be paying attention. As how my name sounds, is how transparent I’ll try to be – “Mr. Reno Mohr.”...

Whoa man!

…Then the man said, “At last, here is one of my kind – Bone taken from my bone, and flesh from my flesh. ‘Woman’ is her name because she was taken out of man.” It’s this verse (Gen. 2:23) from the Bible when wrongfully interpreted has put a great deal on how men live out condescending attitude towards the supposedly weaker sex, consequently putting crooked meaning to women’s existence as “owed to man”. Women in contrast, with the role as a mother doesn’t just have the responsibility and task of conceiving life but a body built for it which “anatomically” differs from that of men’s. Thus, giving some sense as it may be deemed to their own pride – “men’s birth lies in women”. The issue no longer deals with the difference between the two and their respective roles but rather who is the first-rate gender. Men as accustomed to their superiority lifted further by reputation will not just concede especially at times when they think their ‘ego’ is being stepped on. Fed up from being domin...

UNDISPUTED

Wonder how or why men try to boost up their ego when in denial of a failure? May it be from a relationship, a certain match-up with that of the same ‘breed’ perhaps or any of those things that did not allow them to meet what they believe is expected of them, much more from that of their own presumption. Somehow, men find ways to justify such letdown. After a good boxing match-up for instance, assuming neither of the two pugilist kissed the canvass, the ‘defeated paw’ will claw back to glory by insisting that the decision should have been the other way around if it’s not because of too many objectionable reasons. While on the other hand, the victorious fighter, despite its swollen face would probably brag about not even having been bothered nor hurt by what he claims were ‘slight’ punches from, what the obvious thought, who roughly turned out to be such ‘a destructive force’ after all. Of course, there are more challenging ego-busting issues that knock men out of what for them are th...
