Turning 50: The Golden Retriever in Me

Image
Other than it’s one of my favorite breed of dogs, I’m retrieving gold this year as I turn “golden” ~ Five Zero! FIFTY!! The closest we got to having a Golden Retriever was having a Golden Dox. It’s a crossbreed between a Golden Retriever and a dachshund. He looked more like his dox (dachshund) father though. We named him Sandy. Sandy I’m like Sandy. He had the color (only the color though, not even the furry semblance) of a Golden Retriever, whereas for everything else, “dox” just about it. Sandy however was one strong dog who can actually pull something heavier than his own weight. Similarly, I’ve pulled and carried weighty setbacks as well as seemingly burdensome blessings-in-disguise. Not as obvious but Sandy seemed to have that strength of a big dog. I’ve carried “big dawgs and bigwigs” up their podiums. While it might even be attributable for that of their springtime or their golden era, I wasn’t formally conferred that “fair (golden)” level of recognition enough to be a “big dawg...

Spread The Love

Image
Like the profound essence of love, this is the previous post, Stop The Hate ’s continuation... A ‘Part 2’ if you will... a sequel, a spin-off, an extension, a supplement, an annex, a growth, a reason, a portion, a plot, a subplot or anything in between, a story, the “spreading” of it and everything else... It could as well be a “prequel”. A “prequel” since ‘love’ has always been the beginning of everything. We’re all here because of love. No matter what and how our coming-into-being’s circumstance maybe, we’re here for a reason . Love is a purpose. To love and be loved is our quintessential objective. An unending affair supposedly, considering letting go is likewise a manifestation of love. Love for one’s self is a primal requisite. Thus, don’t be too hard on yourself and others... Similarly, life’s lessons are love essentials. Love endures. Along the way though, there’ll be trials and heartaches for one to possibly feel the opposite. Hate is as potent in dictating how you’d most...

Reason Between

In as much as I try to brush off the disturbing image, I can’t get over the heartbreaking scene of the 2-year old Chinese toddler getting run over twice then vulnerably ignored… Virally circulating, I suppose a substantial number has seen and knows what’s being referred to…  As human nature allows, we tend to be judgmental of people despite being clueless of what really transpired and how it could all the more be devastating for the concerned or involved persons of the regrettable incident. Yet as wrong and insensitive to be condemnatory, I can’t help but be critical of how careless any parent or guardian not to tend to a defenseless child along hazardous environs. I’d even refuse to blame it on accident under the usual few-seconds-difference for a (parental) relapse considering how long it took for the toddler to helplessly suffer and exceedingly go through agony even more… It was gravely neglectful. As for the insensible and unkind passersby: SHAME ON ALL OF YOU! And f...

Still Kissable Red Lips

Image
Coming from a 4 Days/3 Nights out-of-town work-related engagement, a time off would be a welcome breather; thus, catching up on movies which I haven’t given much attention to for quite some time is one relaxing indulgence. I’ve watched 2 movies on HBO yesterday – “The Ugly Truth” and “Big Fish”. Somehow, the movies had me thinking of timely peculiarities. Though booked in Holiday Inn with breakfast buffet at Mequeni while we were in Clark, Pampanga other than having had a sumptuous dinner at AC Rumpa Restaurant and delectable desserts at Cioccolo or the “musical” nightcap at the Wishing Well Music Lounge, I yearned to get back home instead. My stay at the hotel gave me peace and quiet but I was actually missing my children’s clamoring. As expected, the food were flavorful just how Pampangeños are known to cook ‘em, however, I long to rather be eating alongside my wife (a mouthful incites considerable silence LOL) . In summation, the 2 movies correspondingly dealt with the differe...

Mr. Reno Mohr

Hi! The title is an introductory of who I am as it’s indicative of my name. Yup, that’s me. No relation to Mr. Jay Mohr though. Mohr ov-- I mean moreover, he’s real whereas I’m fictitious. He’s a TV and film actor portraying made up characters while on the contrary, I’m a fabricated figure that’ll depict valid human interest. But whatever it is, my thoughts are real… Nevertheless, who am I exactly? Logically, I’m a figment of my creator’s imagination; his alter-ego perhaps. Counter-ego is more apposite I think; a case of “My opinion” vs. (what) “I said” I assume. Nevertheless, the mere fact that you’re able to read this without having to pinch yourself to wake up, it’s as real as it gets… “Who am I” might not even interest you as who would care to be even curious of just some unknown entity. Unless I’m some up-and-coming personality gradually making a name, perhaps, a curious few would be paying attention. As how my name sounds, is how transparent I’ll try to be – “Mr. Reno Mohr.”...

AB(solutely)NORMAL

Fetching my mother from the grocery last Sunday, I’ve picked up ire as well. She was about to board the car when a cab driver wouldn’t allow her to comfortably and safely get in as he continued to unpleasantly drive towards her. As if that wasn’t enough, he rudely shouted at my mom saying she shouldn’t be boarding where we were – in a drop-off point where they too pick up their passengers. That ticked me off! I was behind the car as I just closed the compartment door right beside the cab driver. Having witnessed his arrogance, I approached and disdainfully cursed him. Pointing out his disrespectfulness seemingly admonishing him of how would it affect him if such is similarly done to her mother, I bullied him. I was somewhat harsh. The cab driver’s face suddenly changed into a terrified-pitiful look. Guilty, I knew I could have been more diplomatic… Spur of the moment rather got the better off me… If my bullying of him was witnessed by anyone, chances are, their sympathies will be ...

3 Reasons Why Men Cheat

Image
Early yesterday morning, a conversation about men cheating on their wives or girlfriends broke the naivety of some amongst us prior to timing in for work. Enlightening viewpoints from opposing sides were shed. From that of our end, the women were quite surprised to find out likely reasons as to why. The most intriguing revelation for them though was how a female’s sexual organ could possibly differ from another. It was bared when one female colleague expressed how a man could find satisfaction from having to have another when in fact, according to her, vaginas are all in the same way ‘ho les’ if only for its counterpart’s intended purpose. From there on, it was raised why is it that infidelity has to be correlated with sex… Sex isn’t the only reason as to why men cheat. While sex poses as (possibly) an irresistible factor in luring men into such inducement, it’s actually what drove him into it that triggered such. Sex is such a unifying bond that it seems to attach the involved tw...

"Hayop ang Dating!"

Do you ever wonder how animals would probably feel and react if they're aware of being compared to certain human behavior? It's how much I wonder why the kind of association. As if it's unusual for these animals to act their nature; it is rather "out of proportion" to be cited for such "beastly" peculiarity, especially if used to associate with people who have the ability to act sensibly and be responsible for their own actions unlike the animals that are merely being 'it' as naturally expected. Pigs, upon seeing one among their own being clean and elegant at that, don't alienate that pig and start teasing it with "ang tao mo naman" ("oh you're such a man"). And two people fighting know they can avoid such squabble if they want to, not as if their hostility is due to their instinc t like that of aso't pusa (dogs and cats). Prostitutes don't have wings, for if they do, they will just 'fly high' and...
