Because We Want You To Vote Wisely

No to “Voting Blindly”. A lot are actually blinded by their sense of loyalty. With their condescending belief for that of their candidate to whom they seem to be blindly loyal to, they're swayed that that is the sensible choice... Thus, they believe they’re voting wisely.

For us though, our loyalty is for the place where the candidate we are to vote for is likewise loyal to...

'The Soldier of Truth'

On a different light (or the lack of it as a matter of unenlightened perception), campaigning has become a hotly contested battlefield of the candidates’ respective supporters as well. Similarly, respect for the “opinionated society’s” preference has been blatantly disregarded with their self-patronizing mudslinging denouncements. If none, they fabricate, hence the fake news, trolls and all. And even so, in defense by the guilty, they pass on those real stories detrimental to their image as fake news. They’re likewise blinded FROM the truth, blinded BY the lie. They will not even care to verify. Into to the bargain, “lie is impersonating honesty.” Some even resort to threats...

Team Magalong

That’s not the case for Team Magalong as shown and instilled by Magalong himself; inspiring rather than commanding, living up to being a true gentleman and an officer of good values... We don’t even have to prove his honesty and integrity being the ‘Soldier of Truth’ having proven it himself on a national scale even; choosing character at the expense of his career growth... A national post would have been a "qualified option" but he rather serve Baguio...

Marvin Herrera for Councilor

As I have said before (kindly read it here ), we are to “endorse” candidates under that (posted/expressed) premise; considering also the commonality’s notion serving as some provocation actually that triggers our annoyance and disappointments over issues tolerated by people who ironically (critically yet unthinkingly) thrive under their own level of conceited understanding of political affairs... However, rather than engage them with their stuck-up reasoning, we rather focus on our otherwise thought-of insights for the betterment of that to where we are positively contributing to ~ our Baguio. Hopefully, towards a ‘Better Baguio’ with the involvement of everyone as united as we were before...

'Mr. Trapiko'

And that’s one valid reason why we’re endorsing Team Magalong. Having been under an apparent stagnated control for a corrupted system over the years, it’s our sense of commitment to address it with a sensible solution for a contribution. And it’ll be such wasted opportunity to not be a part of that sought for change with the advent of real hope.

As opposed to the usual “election promise” eventually falling as false hope (and the reminder falling on deaf ears), all of a sudden we’re presented with something feasible/workable that’s beneficial to Baguio with that hoped-for leadership by Magalong. It’s going to be unfavorable to just let it slip by. Not to pass up this hard-to-come-by chance, we are to weigh substantial considerations leaning towards what’s better in all its entirety. Like a parent fending for his children of different inclinations, we decide on what will be predominantly advantageous. Figuratively, at the end of the day, it’s for the whole family and not just for one or a few members... Realistically, it’s FOR BAGUIO and not for anyone else... And much like Team Magalong’s “#betterbaguio objective”, what’s even better is that our endorsement is merely a suggestion as we don’t impose it upon anyone with due respect to every one’s choice. However, (like that parent thing again) we’re hoping for unity and harmony much like the Team Magalong way ~ focusing on the positive and rather brushing off the negative as one team regardless of affiliation or affinity... it's not to alienate anyone.

'Honesty and Integrity'

Unfortunately, there are those from the opposing party who do not just devalue but also disrespect preferences which do not conform with that of their own partiality. By all means, they’ll discredit your choice... Isn’t that a reflection of their kind of headship? These are the kind of supporters who likewise fan the flame of our frustrations yet reason to be more patient corresponding with our cause to address negativities, thus the endorsement of the most logical choice ~ Team Magalong!

'Well-decorated Public Servant'

Win or lose, Team Magalong has already given us that victory of believing that there’s hope for change, hope for a better Baguio. Now, we feel better. We are better. Hopefully, the opposing parties get inflicted as well. Team Magalong ~ A breath of fresh air!

For a Better Baguio! 🤙🏼

Stop The Hate

And spread the love... I could have used “Spread The Love” for a title and the “stop the hate” for an onset instead... However, nowadays, a more intriguing issue leaning on negativity stirs a more engaging traction; when subject is abject. “Vilify and it goes viral; praise and it (apparently) goes to waste...” Also, I could have just merged the two as it should be; given that when you stop the hate, it should correspond with spreading the love. But then, what’s rampant along today’s society is how people would rather pay attention to other people’s “negative attributes” to conjure up prodding against those being maligned instead of focusing on (their) fine qualities that merit compliments. For some, they forego of the possibility of being labeled as “humble brags” which similarly get misinterpreted (probably out of envy) and turn into critical imputations from others. Thus, they turn into the opposite as critics instead and express something else against anyone/thing from

Rain, Rain, Go Away. Walang Pasok Anyway

“Walang pasok” might as well be for “wala ng (puma)pasok na pag-unawa” among us... Suspension of classes during this rainy/typhoon season here in Baguio and Benguet has been a constant issue. Both are under separate government units. Thus, its respective local government’s discretion on such weather-concerning decision is rather sought, apparently for all the “authority and liability” aspect’s worth. One major concern however is that, there seems to be a discrepancy on the two governing bodies’ jurisdictions along the inclement weather’s path (and radius), geographically within a common “area of responsibility” which raises these concerns: Baguio is in Benguet What if a student happens to be a resident of, say, La Trinidad but studies in Baguio or vice versa... Do we have to rely (every time) on their discretion? How about considerations leaning towards common sense which could affect one’s academic performance (isn’t that ironic) ... will it be taken against the stud

Uncles and Aunties of Baguio: Who We Are is Who We Were

While it’s true that it was patterned from, as well as inspired by the far more reaching “Titos and Titas of Manila” Facebook group which apparently has been conceptualized from its recently implied premise, “ Uncles and Aunties of Baguio “ on the other hand was initially thought of and created for the purpose of a more nonchalant acceptance given its commonplace exclusivity other than reliving the good old times as an acknowledgment of the difference from any other generation. Come to think of it, the connotation behind “Tito/Tita of (what place) ” as currently referred to doesn’t actually have “that sweet” forethought. It’s almost leaning towards “that sourness” caught between “nagmumurang kamatis” and being “may asim pa” ... Imagine (say) one in his 40s at a party among a bunch most likely half his age “leveling” with the young ones still yet courteously addressed as “Tito” (not to mention, that’s with ”po” and ”opo” )... However, not to appear defensive and at the same ti
