Beyond The Ordinary: Servicing the server... The Rotary Club of Baguio South (RCBS) initiated a recognizing body for a club project that aims to give due recognition among individuals from the grassroots who exemplify the Rotary's core value, "Service Above Self" beyond their livelihood.
As to why 'Beyond The Ordinary', its initial 'working title' was 'Extraordinary Heroes'... However, it's even beyond that... We all have heroes... people we look up to, people we draw inspiration from; from everyday heroes, the most common being our parents, who provide us with things we need - to - known personalities who earn our admiration and incite us to emulate their way. Yet, there are those who subconsciously do it in an extraordinary way...
Beyond the ordinary kind of way... As above-mentioned, living up to that same motto as that of the Rotary’s, ‘Service Above Self’, however as ordinarily carried out as a natural occurrence... What makes it different though is that by some “ordinary” expectation, the Rotary is already known, as much as acknowledged as a civic group. That's a given... That's why this time, the Rotary Club of Baguio South gives due recognition to whom a worthy and conscientious honor is rightfully due.
Recognizing those from the society's low income-earners yet from whom service is rather more of a calling than a social responsibility. Motivated not by a self-serving agenda but an innate character to help... people who manifest and prove that giving and helping doesn't have to be rewarded nor be (intentionally) under public eye so to speak...
Despite the lack of resources, being helpful is something these kind of heroes work hard-for simply out of generosity... People who manifest benevolence beyond their calling... people who substantiate unselfishness beyond their means... People who serve way beyond selflessness... People who exude heroism beyond the ordinary.
People who inspire. May we be as inspired and emulate their good deeds. Nevertheless, we're continuously on the look out for likeminded and inspirational people as we promote positivity and spread inspiration... Simply because they're extraordinary... It's 'Beyond The Ordinary!'
With the objective to rather bestow due recognition to whom a fitting appreciation is due, the RCBS, through its members, busied themselves from sourcing, identifying and validating worthy honorees for the past months. First to be recognized was Marites Castro of Asin last September 27, 2019 held at the Capital Hall of the Capital Building along Kennon Road.

Beyond The Ordinary is a form of giving back through a proper program for a recognition sans the political undertone and self-serving agenda for any unsung hero who gives back to the community without expectations other than their sense of fulfillment.
The club is hoping to continue with this project through the help of potential sponsors. For this initial undertaking, it was sponsored by C & Triple A Group of Companies as generously attended to by Mr Alex and Mme Corazon Aquino. It will also be of considerable importance if it will be acknowledged and backed by the local government.
